What does 'balance deducted only on acceptance' mean?
When you send a request to help with a ticket, it's completely free. The $10 platform fee is only deducted from your FixlyDesk balance when the client actively accepts your request. If they don't accept, you pay nothing.
How do I add funds to my tech balance?
From your tech dashboard, you can add funds to your FixlyDesk balance in $10 increments. A card processing fee (Stripe's standard rate of 2.9% + $0.30, which scales with the amount you add) is added on top at checkout, so the amount credited to your balance always matches exactly what you chose to add. This balance is used when clients accept your requests.
Does FixlyDesk take a cut of what clients pay me?
No. FixlyDesk only charges the $10 platform fee. What you charge the client — whether it's $50 or $500 — goes directly to you via whatever payment method you and the client agree on.
Can I use FixlyDesk for free as a client?
Yes, completely. Posting tickets, browsing techs, chatting, and leaving reviews are all free for clients. There are no hidden fees on the client side.
What if the client never accepts anyone?
If no tech is accepted, no fee is deducted from anyone's balance. Techs only pay when work is confirmed.
Are there monthly or subscription fees for techs?
No. FixlyDesk is purely pay-per-accepted-ticket. No monthly fees, no retainers, no commissions on your earnings.
