Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners. Cookies cannot harm your device and do not contain any personal information in themselves.

FixlyDesk uses cookies to keep you signed in to your account, remember your preferences and settings, understand how you use our platform so we can improve it, record which of our own links or posts brought you to the site so we know which are worth continuing, detect and prevent fraud and abuse of referral or promotional credit programs, and ensure the security of your session. We also use one advertising cookie, set by Meta (Facebook), so that we can measure whether the adverts we run on Facebook and Instagram actually work. It is described in Section 3 under "Advertising", and it is the only cookie on this site used for advertising.

Essential Cookies: Required for the platform to function. These include session cookies that keep you logged in, a randomly generated device identifier cookie used to detect when the same browser is being used to create multiple accounts to repeatedly claim the same referral or promotional credit, and other security cookies that protect against fraud. These cannot be disabled. Functional Cookies: Remember your preferences such as timezone, display settings, and last-used filters to give you a more personalized experience. Analytics: We count page views so we can see which pages are read and which are ignored. This does not use a cookie at all. It is our own system rather than an outside analytics company, nothing about it is shared with anyone else, and it stores only the name of the page, the time, the type of device, the site you arrived from and an approximate location — never your IP address and never anything tied to your account. The identifier that groups one visit's pages together is randomly generated, lives only in that browser tab, and is discarded when you close it. We previously used Microsoft Clarity, which recorded clicks, scrolling and a replay of the visit; it was removed in September 2026 and no replacement records your screen. Advertising: We run adverts on Facebook and Instagram, and the Meta Pixel is installed on every page of this site so that we can tell whether those adverts bring anyone here. It sets a cookie called _fbp, which allows Meta to recognise the same browser again, and it reports to Meta which pages are opened and whether a client account was created. It does not send Meta your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code or anything you have typed into the site. Meta uses this information for its own advertising purposes as well as ours. This is the only advertising cookie on FixlyDesk, and unlike the cookies above it can be refused: blocking third-party or advertising cookies in your browser settings, or using a tracking-blocker extension, stops it without affecting your ability to use the platform. Campaign Source Cookie: If you arrive through one of our own tagged links — a social media post, a job listing, or a printed code, for example — we store a short label such as "nextdoor" or "facebook" so that if you later create an account we know which of our channels brought you. It records only that label. It holds nothing that identifies you, is set only when you arrive through a tagged link of ours, is never read by or shared with the site you came from, and expires after 30 days. It is kept only for the first link that brought you, so it is not updated as you move around the site. Referral Code Cookie: If an existing IT professional shares their personal referral link with you, we store their referral code so that it is still attached to your application if you browse the site before applying. It records only that code — nothing that identifies you or them — and expires after 7 days. Like the campaign cookie above, only the first one is kept.

One third party sets a cookie on FixlyDesk: Meta (Facebook), through the advertising pixel described in Section 3. It is the only one, it is used to measure the adverts we run on Facebook and Instagram, and Meta uses the information it receives for its own advertising purposes as well as ours. You can refuse it through your browser's cookie settings or a tracking-blocker extension, and the platform will continue to work normally without it. Our other outside services — our payment processor and our email provider — do not set cookies here, and handle your information only to carry out the specific service we have asked them for, not for their own purposes. Apart from the Meta Pixel above, we do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow any other advertiser to place cookies on our platform. We have never sold your information to anyone, and installing this pixel does not change that.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically refuse all cookies, accept only certain types, or delete existing cookies through your browser's settings menu. Please note that disabling essential cookies will affect the functionality of FixlyDesk and you may not be able to use certain features, including staying signed in.
