Push notifications could switch themselves off without warning — once when you changed any setting, and again whenever you signed out. Both faults are fixed.
If yours stopped working, switch them back on in Settings → Notifications. They'll stay on now, including after you sign out.
One thing worth knowing: because push now survives signing out, a shared device will keep showing your notifications until you turn push off in Settings.
